I walked by the National Theatre on Wednesday. Saw that Six was playing in Washington, D.C. Bought tickets. Took Aaron. Smiled my face frozen. Six is simply one of the most dynamic, visually arresting, LOUD, keep-you-engaged shows I’ve seen in a long time. Part history lesson, part morality tale, part rock musical, part sympathy pageant,Continue reading “DC in D.C.: Six, the Musical”

DC in D.C. 3
I missed the bus, so walked the 20-minute trek to the National Archives on Thursday morning. Arriving just before the building opened, and with a timed entry ticket, I joined the queue, in direct sunlight on the hottest day of the year. I was maybe the 20th or 25th person in the doors, and afterContinue reading “DC in D.C. 3”
Photo of the day
Photo of the day: Driving by the National Museum of African American History and Culture this week, I caught this snap of a gardener working on the grounds. DC in D.C. 2
In the midst of careful packing on Monday — I didn’t check luggage for the first time in years! — I got away without a hat or a cap. Frustrating. I am currently in Washington D.C. on holiday. At the earliest possible date, about 90 days out, I used your online form toContinue reading “Cori Bush”
DC in D.C.
I’m on a bit of R&R summer holiday in Washington, District of Columbia. The view from my hotel room on Capitol Hill is quite lovely, save for the Millenium Falcon-style satellite dishes. Yesterday was a travel day where I still managed to get in 12K steps. That may have helped make up for the excessContinue reading “DC in D.C.”
Travel day
I left a certain little loved one behind this morning . . . . But I am on a bit of R&R, as my morning smile attests:
In the garden
A garden update! New perennials are planted, including black-eyed Susans, daylilies, milkweed, coneflowers, and, heliopsis. The marigolds did not do well this year, so I planted some zinnias to replace them. And the volunteer lilies have popped up right on time! Maisie is part mountain goat: And she loves to scatter the finches from theContinue reading “In the garden”
