Friday. Saint Louis Art Museum and luncheon at Salt + Smoke, plus a stop on The Hill, with Dennis. Eighth grade graduation at St. Ann’s, Normandy with Philip. And a couple of lessons in between.

BBQ tour

My BBQ tour of Saint Louis and environs continues. Saturday I lunched at Sawmill BBQ Pub & Grill in Des Peres. Service was fast and quite friendly. And they are a Pepsi establishment, thanks be to the cola goddesses! The brisket was lean, tasty without too much rub, and fork-tender — almost melt-in-the-mouth. The beans

I continued last week my tour of Saint Louis area BBQ joints and restaurants. (There is a difference!) So far I’ve done Smokehouse, Adam’s, Bogart’s, and now Smoking Barrel BBQ on South Kingshighway. My constant control each place is brisket and beans, with one other side depending on my whims. And unsweetened iced tea. So
