The journey continues.

In the nine weeks I’ve known that I am diabetic, I have lost ten pounds.

My blood glucose numbers each morning are usually where they should be. If they aren’t, I can now pinpoint the cause.

So many people said “you’ve got this,” and many wrote words of encouragement. I knew, as I began this journey, that I could manage for now with lifestyle changes. And I have.

Fresh fruit is glorious in the summer. Walking in Forest Park is glorious in the summer, if not sweaty. Having a new furry companion for the last two weeks causes more walks, some of them glorious in Forest Park, more of then mundane down and around SLU High.

The decision to generally limit alcohol to a meal with others has brought a clear-headedness and better sleep. And of course the loss of those empty calories.

Here are silly before and now pictures:

The journey continues.
