Today is the 350th day of our lockdown, by my reckoning.
And my reckoning is dated from the last day it was allegedly safe to be within inches of another person, to embrace, to shake hands, to be human with others. The day after the last regular day in the office. The day I started working mostly from home. The last day I got to hug my circus nephews, or anyone at all without a mask.
For today, “No one is alone” by the great Stephen Sondheim, from his musical Into the Woods.
