Muny

The Muny production of Legally Blonde was a pink-filled end-to-end smile.

I’m not a fan of the show, but when the Muny does something like this, they do it all-out. Full-on pink. And they melt the heart of even this crusty 61-year-old curmudgeon.

I caught the Muny Teens pre-show as well. It was the finest and most energetic of the shows I’ve seen this summer.

Sydney Jones, my once-upon-a-time voice student, made her professional Muny debut with Legally Blonde. She’s having a good summer that included being in The Karate Kid at Stages. I’m awfully proud of her!

At the gate afterward, I caught a few of my students, including Julia who closes her long Muny Kid and Muny Teen career with this particular show, where she had some great bits the director gave her on stage. She is headed to Notre Dame in just a few weeks.
