Interstate freeways

I found myself marveling last Sunday, as I was driving south on I-55 in Illinois, about the wonders of the freeway system in this country.

The story is that President Eisenhower saw the wisdom and necessity of having immediately accessible roads crossing the country, as a result of his experience as a war-time general.

Mr. President, I for one am grateful.
