Book #3 of the year: The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris, by the great David McCoullough. This loving, entertaining, even enthralling tale recounts 80 years in the 19th century of Americans abroad in Paris. The artists receive the most attention, of course, but I love the historical tableaux and the epic sweep of it all as well.
