Open to the public

I really hate the phrase “The concert is free and open to the public.”

Does this phrase sound remotely inviting?

Try instead: “The free concert is open to all who wish to attend.”

We’ve gotten rid of the “free and open” moniker in our music program.

Jargon, be gone!!
