Star Wars

I was 16 the summer the first movie was released. Jedi was released just weeks after I finished college.

Monday evening’s screening of the latest Star Wars installment didn’t quite bring the same excitement, but that’s a sign of my age.

I continue to be amazed at the mythology . . . the archetypal characters . . . the humor in the swashbuckle.  Greek tragedy and comedy with animals sit side by side in this particular installment.

And the music!  The instant that fanfare started, my face cracked into a broad smile that didn’t leave for quite a while.

Oh, I shall see it again very soon!
