Paris, France

The hearts breaks even as the mind struggles to comprehend the horror . . . and the sick, demonic, vulgar impulses that lead others to commit hideous, profanely evil acts of terror, mayhem, and murder.

As Scriv’ner John said years ago:

On Judgment Day may zealots see
Scaffolds waiting patiently.

All that one can do is offer this prayer —

E’en so, Lord Jesus, quickly come,
And night shall be no more;
they need no light nor lamp nor sun,
For Christ will be their all.

. . . and work for good and right and grace and peace in my own hometown and my own circle of life.
