Our student Monica (Webster University freshman) posted this yesterday, and I was reminded again of Aunt Esther telling the story: I grabbed a wooden spoon at age 4, climbed up on an ottoman, and conducting the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing Wilhousky’s ‘The Battle Hymn of the Republic’ on the stereo.  Some of us just start early.

I could also relate the story of knocking a hot cup of coffee in my lap whilst driving a car, and conducting something on the radio — all in full view of a grandmother, two sisters, and one brother-in-law who were all in the car with me as we returned from Ridgecrest, North Carolina.  Some of us get messy when we start early.
