I had dinner this evening with Jesse Diaz, my much-loved grad assistant from my last two years at Ball State University.
Jesse is moving from Saint Louis, where we both landed for a spell, to Palm Springs, California, to take a teaching job nearby and be with his partner who is now working there.
Even though we have rarely seen each other here in Saint Louis, I’ve enjoyed knowing he is nearby, and I’ve been pleased to hear of his continued growth and successes!
Whilst picking raspberries tonight, I was attacked by mosquitos.
The curried chicken salad is made. I used the plate trick to cut the grapes. And I toasted some almond slices to throw in as well.
My summer vacation commences two weeks from today. I am truly ready for the respite, and the travel.
The new ceiling fan gets installed tomorrow in the home office. This will truly complete the current renovations.
Except that now I’m really wanting a lamp above the kitchen sink, where there is currently no direct light.
Home Depot, here cometh I.
