A gray Tuesday has dawned, cold and autumnal without any of the autumn glory.

Joe the Handyman is at my home.  The dining room ceiling is finally getting that patch, 10 months after the great poke-the-pipe debacle.  After he finishes that and trims out the drywall, he goes back to work on the kitchen.  I’m anticipating that I’ll be without stove and fridge at least through tomorrow afternoon.

The quick trip home for Jackie Voris’ funeral visitation is set for Thursday.  I’ll take Amtrak, and return by train on Friday morning.
