Tuesday was a full day of meetings and productive conversation, culminating with a Skype meeting back to Webster Groves last evening. So Tuesday was also a long day of over 14 hours on the clock.
Today has included a tourist morning and a work afternoon. I went this morning to Christ Church Vienna at the British Embassy for Holy Eucharist, then made my way by U-Bahn to Schloss Schönbrunn, the old summer palace of the Emperor. Photos are not allowed inside, sad to say. But I saw gilt and glory and splendour for days.
Photos from the last two days:
The view from the hills outside of Vienna, near the American school.
From the subway car on an advertisement.
Me by the Staatsoper.
We stumbled onto a church where Mass had just started.
An old-fashioned CD shop!
And old-fashioned beer steins!
I can’t seem to escape Legally Blonde.
My pasta dinner last evening.
The spire of Stephensdom from a shop.
And what that shop sold. I had completed a portion of this already.
Me at Schoenbrunn.
And again.
I love seeing dogs on the subway!
My usual drink this trip is mineral water.
Schoenbrunn’s forecourt as the clouds rolled in today.
