2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.  I’m delighted that people from 143 different countries viewed my blog this year!

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 41,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 9 Film Festivals

Thoughts on 50

I was searching for something on my blog the other day, and found my post from the day before I turned 50.

These words bear reading again:

Daniel Francois Esprit Auber said “Aging seems to be the only acceptable way to live a long life.”  Fifty years is a good long time.  God willing and health remaining, I’ll be glad to live another fifty.

By the time we hit fifty, we have learned our hardest lessons. We have found out that only a few things are really important. We have learned to take life seriously, but never ourselves. ~ Marie Dressler
