Sunday update

I’ve breakfasted on French toast and bacon, and have boiled some black beans in prep for lunch today.

The full day includes church this morning, a recital at school at 4, then the Cathedral Concerts annual gala this evening (suit and tie for that one, instead of tuxedo).

The full week in front of me includes guest-conducting Rise Above the Walls by Greg Gilpin (written for the Gateway Men’s Chorus) with the combined choirs of the Ladue schools on Tuesday evening, attending a symphony orchestra concert at UMSL on Monday, and hosting my dear friend Adam on Thursday evening.  I depart for Ft. Wayne, Indiana on Friday just as soon as 15 new-student auditions are finished.

My high school soprano, Emily, received a I at solo/ensemble contest yesterday.  I am well-pleased, and she is too.

D turned 36 on Friday. His birthday dinner at C’s was great fun.  Here’s a shot of me and D on his natal day:

A week later

Last Saturday I posted pictures of the beginning of Spring showing up in my yard.

After the yard work yesterday, I took more picture.  The peonies are definitely growing, and of course the daffodils are in furious stretch season right now.  The tulips have become more active.  And the hydrangeas are showing signs of life in their first year in the ground.  That makes me very happy.
