Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church holds every year a Greek Festival on Labor Day weekend. I joined the festivities today with several of the Gateway Men’s Chorus guys.
After mimosas on my front porch, we walked the mile or so up to the church at Kingshighway and Forest Park Boulevard. Lunch for me was spinakopita, pastitsio, and baklava. And it was heavenly! I said ‘thank you’ in Greek to an old man who sold me a beer. He just beamed.
The church tour turned out to be the wrong thing to do after a heavy lunch, but I enjoyed seeing the nave in this lovely building.
We walked home around 3 p.m. After iced tea on my porch, all departed. I napped.
And Labor Day was quite a delight!
