It’s really not a job. It’s something I enjoy doing, tremendously, and for which I happen to collect a paycheck.
Every morning since I arrived in St. Louis more than two weeks ago, I’ve practically bounded out of bed, or at least arisen with joy and a desire to get the day started. I don’t do much bounding any longer…. I’m anxious to get to the office and to see what the day has in store. I felt this way in Muncie too – this happiness in a vocation and employment that challenges, that embraces, that gives back, that betters me as I hope I’m bettering it.
From the office, on my lunch break, I send happiness out to those who will receive it.
