From 1984, and the day I was ordained a minister. (That’s another story.)
L-R: Aunt Esther, recently widowed; my mother, age 46; Grandma Blocher. The two on the outside are sisters. Aunt Esther turns 100 in two month’s time.
That quilt in the background (left) is the quilt my mother had started making for me. Several years after she died, a family friend finished the quilt from the pieces Mom had cut. Only three panels were finished, but Datha mastered the whole thing and I now proudly have the quilt in the colors and Dresden Plate design Mom and I agreed on.
