I really should have been recording the festive singing this evening as my eight freshman musical theatre students gathered ’round the piano.  We hit a dozen or more Christmas favorites, with even the Jewish students joining in on some.  This was great fun, and a fine way to end my holiday break.

Jan Richard’s tradition of making ‘Polish Mistakes’ lives on now, as I made them for the first time; the students scarfed them right down with none left at all.  Long after Jan quits making these little goodies, I suspect I will continue, and then when I’m done, I do hope that one of my students carries forward the tradition too.

I didn’t realize until this evening how much I’ve missed these kids.  I’m truly ready to go back to work.

But first, on Wednesday evening the tree comes down.
