About one month past its official arrival, Spring seems to finally be here for the duration.

Today’s weather is just about perfect.  As I sit at my desk, looking out of my second-floor window, I see green and yellow and white on the trees.  Each morning I’m awakened by the joyous sounds of birds a-twitter in the early-morning dawn.  The sun is moving higher in the sky.  And breezes smell clean, fresh, alive.

I do LOVE this time of year.

At 10.05 p.m. last night I conducted the final notes I’ll ever conduct at Ball State University.  Chamber Choir sang Vaughan Williams and Howells;  Carter was thrown in the mix too.  We had a fine concert, including a premiere of my own music, a work I last sang at Westminster Abbey, and a work I last heard live at King’s College Cambridge.  I don’t belong in the same breath as HH and RVW, but my little piece of choral music from 1999 was a nice filler anyway.

Today’s honors convocation ran like clockwork with only one teensy glitch, so another task is now crossed of the list.

I’m on the apartment and condo hunt in STL in a big way today.  By this time next week I’m hopeful of having a final decision made.  Check this out!
